Every year we organize trips to visit the Whaleshark in Holbox, the world's largest fish. These animals are spotted the whole year around, but are garanteed between June and the first week of September.
A typical trip starts after the morning-dive, and we cross on the ferry to the mainland and pick the cars and drive through the Yucatan peninsula to the northern tip, the town of Chicila. There we park the cars and take the private boat to the island of Holbox. The drive and crossing takes about 4 hours. So diner is on the quaint island and rest and relax are mandatory.
The next morning we are picked up at the hotel and taken to the National Park Checkpoint. Were we have some coffee and are on for the boatride into the sun-rise. Yeah being out on the water while the sun comes up and starts to warm the bones. The boat ride takes us offshore to where the whaleshark are and even when you can not see the shore the water is not deeper than may be 30 feet.
Without Words...Holbox
